FAQ's: All insects are hand raised or from sustainable such as Insect farms and aviaries. People in third world countries are able to plant mass crops which are more sustainable and profitable than the natural land. They are given motivation to maintain insect populations and their habitats. Your purchase helps fight extinction and the destruction of habitats worldwide. We do not stock or encourage the collection of endangered/threatened species. I am required to carry a U.S. Fish & Wildlife "Wildlife Import Permit" in order to import my specimens, so they are also regulated in that way. It is illegal for me to import insects that are endangered, and it is also illegal for me to import live insects.

A quick example would be butterflies. The females are brought in from the wild to lay their eggs inside a large enclosed habitat, which protects them from disease, parasites, and predators. In captivity, virtually 100% of the butterflies will survive. Once the butterflies reach adulthood, many are released back into the wild to help increase the indigenous populations. About half of the butterfly chrysalis crop can be harvested and brought into a protected hatching cage. The remaining butterflies are left on the vine to regenerate and complete their natural life cycle (in the wild).
