Platerodrilus is a genus of beetles of the family Lycidae. They get their name from trilobites, those creepy-crawly, armored sea creatures that you may have seen in fossils. But even though they look prehistoric, trilobite beetles didn't even exist until around 47 million years ago—200 million years after trilobites had gone extinct.
